Letters from Our Staff During COVID-19

We are deeply humbled by letters we’ve received from our staff; we are forever in their debt for their hard work and dedication. To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Ashanti’ Samuel, and I am the Occupational Therapist currently practicing full time with Armor Correctional Health Services. I wanted to send you this letter to offer and extend a very special “Thank You” for the gracious generosity you are bestowing upon the Occupational and Physical Therapy staff, currently working in your Virginia facilities.

Considering the situation that the nation, and the world together, are facing right now, regarding COVID-19, everyone has become very anxious and concerned with the understand the great deal you all are facing right now, and although our therapy team has been asked to work from home at this time, I want to sincerely thank you for giving us this opportunity, as well as continuing to pay our salaries during this difficult time. Knowing that we are taking the most effective proactive steps in preventing any possible spreading of the virus, helps decrease some of our anxieties. In addition, with your generous help and support, we are also able to know that our finances will not be negatively impacted due to the global situation we are all currently facing.

Thank you once again for everything you have done, and continue to do for our therapy team, as well as for the company as a whole. It has been a pleasure to help initiate the Occupational Therapy Division for this company. I hope to continue being an asset and contributor to this company, as much as you all have blessed and aided me throughout my employment here.

Thank you,
Ashanti’ Samuel, MSOT, OTR/L

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Frank Markham. I am an Armor employee. I am the site manager of the Physical Therapy Department at State Farm Infirmary and a licensed physical therapist assistant. At SFI, we treat the infirmary, State Farm Enterprise Unity, State Farm Correctional Centers general population, Buckingham Correctional Center, Dilwyn Correctional Center, and James River Work Center.

I have been employed by Armor for almost a year. During my first month at SFI, I doubled the number of daily visits and established a productive working relationship with the nursing staff. Recently, the SFI therapy department was recognized by HSA Ganges in the company newsletter.

I cannot speak more highly of our HSA medical director and nursing staff, SFI is a great place to work and Armor is a wonderful company to work for. I wake up every day looking forward to the challenges being Site Manager brings.

I am very happy with my job and working for Armor. Armor’s recent decision to place therapy staff on paid leave due to the CDC’s recommendation only solidifies the fact that Armor makes their employees a priority. Our patients are not free to move and often share a cell with seven other patients, which means sharing the same toilet and sink. Armor’s decision to keep the therapy staff out was the right decision. I am extremely grateful to work for a company that values the safety of its staff and patients. The staff at SFI is spending this time researching new therapy techniques and reviewing our various diagnosis so we can return stronger.

To the leaders who made this decision, thank you! Many employees around the country are not fortunate enough to be on paid leave during this time. I am extremely grateful that I work for Armor. I believe this decision was not only in our best interest but also in our patients. I cannot thank you enough.

I look forward to returning to work healthy, motivated and with a deeper appreciation to be working for Armor Correctional.

Sincerely,

Frank Markham, LPTA
